Dear colleagues and friends,

From the Ibero-American Nutrition Foundation (FINUT) We invite you to participate in the FINUT 2024 Conference, which will be held at the El Tesoro Event Center of the City of Medellín, Colombia from October 24 to 26, 2024, under the motto “Nutrition at the forefront of a sustainable planet” and which will be co-organized by the School of Nutrition of the University of Antioquia.

FINUT is a non-profit entity founded in 2011 to promote knowledge, research, development and innovation in Nutrition and Food in Latin America. Its programs are aimed at training professionals and researchers interested in these areas and establishes collaboration agreements with entities, both public and private, to provide scientific responses to the challenges posed in the region.

The first edition of this conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The second edition, and the first in person, was held in Mexico City and had 466 attendees, from 25 countries, who participated in 55 scientific activities, presenting 230 communications published in Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism, and that reported a rate of creation of new relationships interest rate of 90%. Academic professionals, researchers and graduate students represented 70% of attendees; 30% were represented by clinical professionals from Nutrition and Medicine, undergraduate students and professionals from the food and restaurant industry.

The general objective of the FINUT 2024 Conference is to create a space for exchange, discussion of ideas, and integration of new teams in which all the actors that influence the field participate to face the main challenges of Food , Nutrition and Sustainability in Ibero-America, and thus offer solutions aimed at improving the health status of the population, taking into account the impact of social inequalities in the region.

The 4 pillar themes of the FINUT 2024 Conference are:

• Methods and tools in Nutrition
• Healthy nutrition in the life cycle and Clinical Nutrition
• Nutritional epidemiology and challenges of Public Health in Latin America
• Safe, healthy, sustainable and social food

School of Nutrition of the University of Antioquia and the FINUT we are excited to work as a team to offer again, now in the city of Medellín, the environment of excellence and the quality scientific program that characterize the FINUT Conference.
