FINUT GENERAL POLICY

FINUT’s main policy is openness so that all sectors involved in the food, nutrition and health of the populations can participate in its activities. For this reason, it offers the opportunity to public and private entities involved in people’s food and nutrition so that they can present their concerns and advances in order to promote knowledge and resolve issues that influence the health of the inhabitants of the area. FINUT CONFERENCE POLICIES

1 – CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Essence of politics

The quality and scientific excellence of the Conference are two basic and essential aspects of it. To guarantee these aspects, FINUT considers the participation of all actors and sectors involved in the field of food and nutrition essential.

Measures

  • All participation proposals received by the FINUT Conference will be evaluated by an internationally renowned Scientific Committee. The committee is announced on the Conference website.
  • The relevance and scientific quality of each and every one of the activities proposed by the entities is required.
  • No specific brand of product may be referred to or advertised in any of the organized activities.
  • The conference will have a defined booth area and, outside of that area, entities will not be able to use the conference spaces to promote any particular product or service.
  • In relation to the stands, the entities must present a proposal with the products and services that will be offered there in order to be evaluated and, where appropriate, authorized by the Conference Organizing Committee.

2 – TRANSPARENCY POLICY

Measures

Participating entities, both public and private, are subject to compliance with the following specifications:

  • All symposiums have the information of their organizers and if they have a collaborator other than the organizer, their name will be recognized within the program.
  • The stands are perfectly identified by the entity that sponsors them.
  • Any collaboration of another nature is also recognized visibly in the different media that the Conference offers.

Use of funds received

Organization of the FINUT Conference: The funds obtained will be used, mainly, to cover the costs of organizing a conference in a way that ensures a quality service in terms of the scientific level of the participants, facilities, means and other services.

Allocation of scholarships to young people: Scholarships will be awarded to students and/or professionals who are from an Ibero-American country or who carry out their scientific activity in the region in accordance with criteria of scientific excellence.

Economic benefit of the FINUT Conference: The economic benefit generated from this event will be used for the purposes described below.

  • For the general interest purposes of the foundation, complying with the legislation of non-profit entities in Spain that requires reinvesting a minimum of 70%. A maximum of 30% of those income may be used for common and administrative expenses of the FINUT.
  • To increase the autonomy of FINUT in order to plan and execute activities of high interest to its community and reduce dependence on outside resources to carry them out.
  • To cover the structural costs that arise from the daily activity of the foundation such as personnel expenses, headquarters rental, supply expenses, etc.

Monitoring

FINUT is governed by Spanish Law 50/2002, of December 26, on Foundations, which requires the preparation of an annual report in which both the origin and destination of the funds received during the year are declared. This report is delivered to the members of the Board of Trustees and published on the FINUT website.

FINUT publishes annually on its website the amount and origin of the funds received for the development of its activities.
